The history of Fezer
A success story
The origins of the Fezer company go back to the year 1928. At that time, Mr. Fezer and Mr. Stoll founded the company FESTO. Only 5 years later Albert Fezer left the company and founded his own company FEZER. The beginnings were in the manufacturing of woodworking machines.
It was not until much later, in 1961, that the company entered the field of vacuum technology. At first, holding-plates for the wood industry were manufactured and then very quickly also larger vacuum lifters for the handling of steel. The vacuum technology sector was permanently expanded and very quickly achieved a high share of sales.
When Georg Komposch and Michael Beisswenger, both grandsons of the company's founder, joined the company in the years 1996 and 1999, the woodworking machinery sector was consequently abandoned and the company concentrated exclusively on vacuum technology. After only a few years, the company was able to meet the high market demands through innovative in-house developments.
In recent years, Fezer has continued to expand its high position of vacuum technology and is constantly growing - as you can see by our 7,500 sqm new building in Altbach, which was open for business in 2019.
